About API Mysore

Saga of API Mysore Chapter

On 28th April In 1985, six physicians met with an object of starting an API Branch at Mysore to serve as a nucleus for continuing medical education and social activities among the physicians in this city.

Dr.N.A.Jadhav, Dr.B.V.Rajagopal, Dr.C.D.Srinivasa Murthy, Dr.P.R.Anantha Rao and Dr.V.Lakshminarayan decided to start the API Mysore Chapter.

An adhoc committee was formed during the meeting and a decision to invite all the physicians in and around Mysore district was taken. Three months later, on 28th July 1985 there was another meeting and around 20 physicians including those from Bangalore attended to install the 1st batch of office bearers of API Mysore.

API Mysore was honoured with the "Best Chapter Award" and "Best District Branch Award" at KAPICON 2025 at Hubli,under the guidlines of Dr.Y S RaviKumar(Chairman) and Dr.R Madhu Kumar(General secretary) of API Mysore Branch

API Mysore Chapter has been active since its inception, in conducting local scientific activities, hosting three state-level conferences, etc.

  1. A grand inaugural function and CME programme was held on March 22, 1986 at the prestigious CFTRI Auditorium.
  2. The fifth Joint Conference of Karnataka Branch of API and CSI was the first to be conducted on 11th and 12th June 1988 at the newly built Kalamandira.
  3. The Eleventh Joint Conference of API and CSI Karnataka was hosted during 1994 at the Institute of Engineers building under the Chairmanship of Dr. B.V. Rajagopal, Dr. C.D. Sreenivasa Murthy, and Dr. S. Viswesharan as secretary.
  4. The Constitution of Association of Physicians of India Mysore Branch was prepared by Dr. V. Lakshminarayan (General Secretary) and accepted by the executive committee on 30th December 1999.
  1. Kapicon-2003 at Platinum Jubilee Auditorium was held in May under the Chairmanship of Dr. C.D.S. Murthy and Dr. Basavana Gowda as the Organising Secretary, including Dr. R. Manjunath as API Chairman.
    SOUVENIR was edited by Dr. V. Lakshminarayan. During this conference, a substantial amount was saved by the Secretary Dr. Basavana Gowda and Treasurer Dr. Premanath, and the same was diverted by Dr. C.D.S. Murthy to start a permanent Trust called MPMRT.
  2. MPMRT is Mysore Physicians Medical and Research Trust.
  3. KAPICON 2011, the 29th Annual Conference of API - Karnataka Chapter, was successfully held on 13th, 14th & 15th May 2011 in Mysore.
  4. The website of API Mysore www.apimysore.com was launched under the guidance and vision of Dr. M. Mahesh, Secretary API Mysore 2011–2012.
